SYNOPTIC METEOROLOGICAL FEATURE:
• The shear zone roughly along 20°N between 3.1 & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height persists.
• The off-shore trough at mean sea level along South Gujarat-north Kerala coasts persists.
• Strong wind convergence along Coastal Karnataka and adjacent Western Ghats districts.
FORECAST, THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR KARNATAKA FOR NEXT THREE DAYS:
• Day 1 (21.07.2024): Scattered heavy to isolated very heavy rain and sustained wind speed reaching (30-40 kmph) very likely to occur over Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi districts. Scattered heavy to isolated very heavy rain and sustained wind speed reaching (40-50 kmph) very likely to occur over Chikkamagaluru, shivamogga districts.
• Isolated heavy rain and sustained wind speed reaching (40-50 kmph) very likely to occur over Belagavi, Bidar, Kalaburgi,Hassan ,Kodagu districts.
• Light to moderate rain and sustained wind speed reaching (40-50 kmph) very likely to occur at many places over remaining districts of Interior Karnataka.
